Sego Lily Children’s Garden is a Waldorf inspired, nature based program offering a unique and enriching learning experience for young children. With our unique Moab desert surroundings and our immediate farm setting, we also use farm and forest school programming for inspiration. By immersing children in the natural world, we provide opportunities for exploration, discovery, and hands-on learning. Our program is designed to foster a deep connection with the environment, sparking curiosity and a love for the world around us.

At Sego Lily, we strive to surround each child with beauty and simplicity, an ideal environment for learning. The day unfolds from exploratory play, movements and songs, snack time, followed by activities such as painting, baking, and adventure time. Ultimately it is the warmth and safety created by loving teachers that set the tone for a nourishing environment for our children.

  • Through outdoor adventures, nature walks, sensory activities, and service projects, our children develop a strong foundation in environmental stewardship and appreciation for the beauty of the earth.

  • We teach children healthy eating habits with a daily snack time. We serve healthy balanced snacks including three fruits/vegetables, a grain, and protein at each snack. We also practice conversation, table etiquette, and mindful eating during snack time. It is a delight! Parents are always welcome to join. 

  • By integrating play-based learning with nature exploration, practical skills, and art, we cultivate a sense of wonder and creativity in our students, nurturing their holistic development.

  • Family life is also nurtured at Sego Lily, with opportunities to build community throughout the year with seasonal celebrations and Waldorf festivals with the Our Village Community Center family support programming.

Sego Lily believes that learning in nature nourishes the child’s mind, body, and soul. Research supports this by showing that children who learn outdoors and with natural materials have less stress, higher academic achievement, less health concerns such as obesity, more concentration and focus, enhanced creativity, advanced problem solving skills, and an appreciation of the environment. We spend 90% more time outdoors than traditional preschool programs!

Tuition, Deposit & Fees Policy: 

Tuition is billed monthly and is due on the 1st of each month through Brightwheel. The total annual tuition is divided evenly over 9 months, regardless of how many class days occur in a given month. Some months (such as December or January) may have fewer weeks due to holidays or breaks, while others may have five full weeks of class. This even distribution allows for a consistent monthly payment throughout the school year. 

For Utah Fits All (UFA) Scholarships, the entire school year tuition will be paid to Sego Lily once the funds have been distributed. The same rules below **will apply to any students choosing to drop out early. Unless said student's spot is filled by another student, they will forfeit the remainder of their money to Sego Lily Children’s Garden.  

Enrollment is a one year commitment. There are no discounts or refunds for vacations, illness, short months, etc.

**If early withdrawal from Sego Lily is deemed necessary by the parents for any reason and Sego Lily is able to fill the students spot from the waiting list, all remaining months of tuition due will be forgiven and the tuition contract will be terminated. However, if Sego Lily is unable to fill the students spot, we will require that the parents continue to honor our tuition agreement and finish paying the tuition for the remainder of the year as per our annual tuition and enrollment agreement.

**Should Sego Lily opt to dis-enroll a student, the tuition contract will be void and no additional payments will be required from the parents. All deposits and registration/supply fees collected are non-refundable for any reason.

A late fee of $45.00 will be assessed to bills not paid in full within 7 days.

A $300 deposit is due at enrollment, this will hold your child's spot for the school year. The $300 will be credited to the last month's tuition in May 2027 . (non refundable) 

For parents using UFA scholarship money, you will be responsible for a $300 deposit to enroll your child prior to receiving the UFA or with the UFA funds, whichever comes first. Should you pay the $300 with your own money and then pay the annual tuition of $8000 to Sego Lily, we will refund you the $300 deposit upon receipt of the annual tuition payment of $8000. Should you use the UFA funds to pay the deposit and annual tuition, then no refund will be issued as the deposit will be part of the annual tuition payment.

A $150 registration and supply fee is due upon enrollment, separate from the deposit payment. This payment is required for every student and is non refundable.

Late Pick-Up Policy: Please pick up your child on time at the end of their scheduled class. A $20 late fee will be charged for pickups up to 5 minutes late. After 5 minutes, an additional $5 per minute per child will be charged. We understand that things happen! If you’re running late, please call or text us. In an emergency, we understand if you can’t contact us. If late pick-ups become frequent, late fees will be applied consistently. Thank you for helping us respect staff time and keep the program running smoothly.

Drop-Off Policy: Please do not drop off your child more than 5 minutes before class begins. We offer a 15-minute drop-off window starting at the scheduled class time. Teachers are busy preparing and are not able to supervise children before class officially begins. Thank you for helping us start the day smoothly and safely!
